ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR-DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Central Arkansas is seeking to fill at
least one tenure-track assistant/associate professor position in mathematics/applied
mathematics beginning August 2013. Each position requires a doctorate. Preference
will be given to candidates with emphasis in algebra, applied analysis, applied
statistics/probability, or computational mathematics. Duties include teaching
undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses and conducting research.
A strong commitment to and proven ability in undergraduate teaching is required.
Regular teaching load is 12-credit hrs per semester. Reassigned time for research is
available. At the present time, the Department has 21 full-time faculty members and 20
graduate teaching assistants. The department offers undergraduate degrees in applied
mathematics, mathematics and mathematics education as well as masters degrees in
applied mathematics and mathematics education. UCA is among three state universities
selected to implement prestigious UTeach Program this fall.

Conway is a growing city of over 50,000 with two private colleges in addition to the
University of Central Arkansas. Residents enjoy easy access to both a large urban center
(Little Rock is 30 minutes away via 1-40) and pristine wildlife areas such as the Buffalo
National River, and the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains.
