ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST II-DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT ACCOUNTS
This position serves as the receptionist for the Student Accounts/Cashiering Department. This individual will be a main contact for account inquiries regarding student accounts, either by email, phone or in-person. The ability to be a self-starter, work well with the public, and provide excellent customer service in a fast paced environment is essential. This individual will be responsible for the following: greeting customers; answering phones; referring inquiries; maintaining forms, files, and activity logs; performing general office duties; assisting in the coordination of billings; assisting in the researching and reconciling various accounts; and other related responsibilities as required or assigned.
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
Preferred qualifications include proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word with a strong accounting and technical background to assist in the day to day operation of the Student Accounts office. A working knowledge of the SCT Banner administrative software, ARGOS reporting tool or Microsoft Access is a plus.
