ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST III-DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL ENGAGEMENT
This position will report to the Assistant Provost and Director of International Engagement. This position will be responsible for coordinating office activities, supervision of student workers, researching and preparing special reports, preparing purchase requisitions, hiring forms, and arranging domestic and international travel. The specialist will also assist with compilation of financial information to formulate budget proposal and monitoring of expenditures. Duties will also include providing information, assistance, and clarification to students and other university personnel concerning the division’s programs, policies and procedures. Maintenance of leave records, appointment calendars, and prioritization of incoming correspondence will be required. The specialist will need to perform other duties as assigned and may occasionally be required to work nights and weekends.
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field; plus three years of experience in specialized or a related field applicable to work performed. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs, Word and Excel. Knowledge of Banner software would be a plus. The applicant must possess the ability to organize multiple events and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. A bachelor’s degree and one year in a leadership capacity is preferred.
