We are so glad you are considering a Residential College as your first home away from home. The old saying "The end depends upon the beginning" is very true. What you do and who you become your freshman year will shape your entire college career. We want to help you make all the right choices and stay on the path to graduation. Housing & Residence Life is committed to your success and your continued learning outside the classroom.
This page will provide you with some common questions and information that will help you make a better decision as to which Residential College is right for you. You can also access the Residential College website for more information.
- UCA Housing & Residence Life along with the Undergraduate Studies Office currently offer four Residential College options: Hughes "Living Leadership", EDGE in State, STEM in Arkansas, and the STARS in Short/Denney. All Residential Colleges are open to both men and women with shared common spaces.
- All Residential Colleges offer the standard Residence Life staff which includes a Resident Assistant on each floor, a Residence Coordinator who supervises the daily operation of the building, and an Area Coordinator who is a full time professional that oversees several buildings. In addition to the Residence Life Staff each Residential College has a live-in faculty member who teaches classes in the building and a peer mentor staff.
- To apply for the Residential Colleges, log on to myUCA > myHousing > myApply and select the Residential College application from the drop down menu. A $100 Housing deposit must accompany the application and can be paid online at uca.edu/housing, in person, or by mail.
- Students are chosen to participate in a Residential College by the Undergraduate Studies Office based on their essay and application criteria. Undergraduate Studies then notifies Housing & Residence Life and we assign students to specific rooms and provide roommate information.
