University administration has designated the corner of Dave Ward Drive and Farris Road for the development of UCA Greek
Village. Twenty-six (26) Greek leaders and the student government association president met on June 15, 2011. They voted unanimously in favor of this site.
- There is approx. 12.5 acres available for construction of Greek Village. The property is bounded by Dave Ward Drive, Farris Road, The UCA nature reserve and a large drainage ditch. There is also several acres available to the East of the drainage ditch for parking or other uses.
- A soil survey by Ackley Engineering, Inc. indicates the proposed site is suitable for construction with some modifications. Flood plain drainage will need to be addressed.
- Street access may be available from both Farris Road and Dave Ward Drive. It is possible that a road could be extended from the center part of campus to Dave Ward Drive to produce another major campus exit.
- Developing Greek Village at the corner of Dave Ward Drive and Farris Road provides an attractive front to a major university intersection. Dressing up the corner of Dave Ward and Farris will help in the recruitment of university students.
