Will other departments be creating upper-level courses with few or no prerequisites that our majors can take to fulfill the UCA Core requirements?
Yes. For example, the Department of History has designated all of its upper-division courses as Core courses; the Department of English has designated the bulk of its upper-division courses as Core courses, and the Department of Philosophy and Religion also has quite a few upper-division courses in the Core. Faculty in these departments welcome students from across the disciplines to take their upper-division Core courses. All of these proposals have passed the UCA Core Council and are soon to be on the way to the Provost’s office for approval.
