Last May, the University of Central Arkansas invited alumni, friends, and corporate partners to campus for the first Night of Distinction. The evening provided a great opportunity to both celebrate recent UCA success stories and to reflect on key relationships that have made those successes possible.
This year, the Night of Distinction will make a bold statement of UCA’s legacy, which in many ways has shaped the Conway community into what it is today: a thriving community of caring families and individuals, a hub of business and industry, a cultural destination and a society dedicated to educational advancement.
Much more than a black-tie awards ceremony, Night of Distinction will celebrate UCA’s past, present and future—and the future in particular is inextricably linked to our wonderful community partners.
This year, we will direct funds raised during this event to support a component of the total renovation of Ida Waldran Auditorium, which is already in progress. In fact, prior to start of the gala, sponsors will be invited to a VIP reception at Ida Waldran to view the completed portions of the renovation which will include new seating, brass railings, acoustical wall panels and a new stage floor.
Your sponsorship will help us achieve the fundraising objective of the evening: the purchase of a new electric projection screen and video/computer projector for Ida Waldran Auditorium, which has been identified by our students as a top priority.
As we look to the future, we will restore Ida Waldran Auditorium, a treasured venue, to its former glory and offer the UCA and local community a new locale for performances and presentations. UCA cannot realize its highest aspirations apart from dedicated alumni, friends and corporate partners, however.
