PURPOSE
The purpose of AAFCS is to provide for and to promote the professional development of college family & consumer sciences students.
PHILOSOPHY
The American Family & Consumer Sciences Association (AAFCS) is a scientific and educational association of professionals and students. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for families. The Association acts through individuals and communities to effect the optimum balance between families and their environments. http://www.aafcs.org/
MISSION
The mission of the American Family & Consumer Sciences Association is accomplished by offering its membership:
- Mechanisms for unifying efforts of professions and students
- Processes for developing and implementing member-set goals
- Opportunities for continuing professional development
- Interactions with other agencies and organizations on common concerns.
The American Family & Consumer Sciences Association functions on local, state, national and international levels in an atmosphere of social concern, professional responsibility and democratic representation.
DUES/MEETINGS
Dues are $14.00 per year
Our regular meeting time is X-period (1:40-2:30) on the 4th Thursday of each month in the Mirror Room.
