DEADLINE FOR 2012 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION :

Tuesday, March 12, 2012 THE 2012 AND 2013 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE BY CHOOSING GRADUATE APPLICATION OR UNDERGRADUATE APPLICATION IN THE DROP DOWN MENU TO THE LEFT. THERE IS ONE APPLICATION FOR ALL FACS SCHOLARSHIPS.

Undergraduate Students:

2012 Undergraduate FACS Scholarship Application

Criteria for Selecting Candidates for Scholarships:

* The candidate must be an undergraduate major in an area of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Central Arkansas.

* The undergraduate candidate must be a full-time student and enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester credit hours each semester.

* The undergraduate candidate must have a minimum of 2.50 cumulative grade point average from all attempted college coursework on a minimum of 24 credit hours completed, 12 of which are at UCA.

* The candidate must have demonstrated leadership skills in departmental organizations, campus and non-campus activities.

* The candidate must complete the application with all required information.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

* Applications must be typewritten.

* The recipient must attend the annual Family and Consumer Sciences Alumni/Student Recognition Luncheon at UCA in April.

Procedure for Selecting Scholarship Recipients:

* A scholarship committee composed of UCA Family and Consumer Sciences faculty members will review applications and select recipients.

* The recipients will be notified by mail prior to the luncheon date.

Payment of Scholarship:

* The scholarship shall be paid to the recipient per requested plan on the dates of registration for indicated semesters of the academic year on the condition that the student continues to maintain at least a 2.50 GPA and continues to major in one of the specialization areas of Family and Consumer Sciences.  In the event the recipient discontinues his/her enrollment or changes his/her major after the beginning of the fall semester, the unused funds shall be awarded in subsequent years to another recipient.

* The graduate candidate must have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative grade point average from all graduate college coursework.

* The candidate must have demonstrated leadership skills in academic & professional work experiences.

* The candidate must complete the application with all required information.  The student must submit the complete application packets. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

* Applications must be typewritten.

* The recipient must attend the annual Family and Consumer Sciences Alumni/Student Recognition Luncheon at UCA in April.
