Travel Seminar in American Indian Literature and Cultures

This seminar focuses on stories to explore the ways different cultures look at our relationship to the earth and each other, with special emphasis on Navajo Hopi, Zuni, and Pueblo literature and culture.  After an introductory session, participants take a trip to the Southwest to experience first-hand the way different Native American traditions use stories, and ceremonies based on stories, to establish and maintain harmony with nature, define and maintain health, and create meaningful lives.
