The College of Education is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). In order to demonstrate accreditation requirements, the Professional Education Unit (PEU) must provide evidence that all candidates meet basic competencies in their fields of study. These competencies are demonstrated through key assessments completed in each program. Chalk and Wire ( http://www.chalkandwire.com/uca ) is the online system through which key assessments are collected, evaluated, and stored for analysis and accreditation purposes. Candidates will purchase a subscription to Chalk and Wire as indicated by their professors.
