Accreditation and Continuous Improvement

The University of Central Arkansas is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools as a bachelor’s, master’s, specialist’s and doctoral degree granting institution.  The College of Education and the programs in the Educator Preparation Provider (EPP) are all accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) at the bachelor’s, master’s, specialist’s and doctoral degree levels.   Educator Preparation Provider programs at the initial level meet the program standards of the following specialized professional associations:  National Association for Sport and Physical Education, National Association for the Education of Young Children, National Council for the Social Studies, National Council of Teachers of English, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, National Middle School Association and National Science Teachers Association.  Educator Preparation Provider programs at the advanced level meet the program standards of the following specialized professional associations:  American Library Association, Council for Exceptional Children, Educational Leadership Constituent Council, International Reading Association, and National Association of School Psychologists.  The University is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and the National Association of Schools of Music.  Accreditation documentation is available in the College of Education.
