 Current Research

Dr. Hidecker's Research Team of undergraduate and graduate students meets weekly. Any student interested in learning more about research is invited to attend. No previous research experience is required.

  • Autism classification using a World Health Organization framework, The International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF)
  • Use of Communication Function Classification System (CFCS) for cerebral palsy.
  • Increasing communicative participation as an intervention outcome
  • Family issues in early AAC intervention

 

Future Research

  • Applying family paradigms to communication disorders.
  • Communication disorder epidemiology in cerebral palsy
  • Validating the CFCS in autism, post-stroke, and other populations
  • Evaluating early intervention practices using AAC
