Arkansas Chinese Teachers Attended The 1st Mid-South U.S. Hanban Chinese Teachers' Professional Development Conference

November 3 & 4, 2012- The 1st Mid-South U.S. Hanban Chinese Teachers' Professional Development Conference was held at University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. The conference was organized by the Hanban Volunteer Teacher Center and hosted by the Confucius Institute at University of Kentucky. Over 140 Chinese volunteer teachers from mid-south schools and colleges attended. 10 Chinese teachers from Arkansas attended the conference. Dr. Mary John O' Hair, the dean of the College of Education at the University of Kentucky gave opening remarks.

There were several types of seminars at the conference, including lectures, panel discussions, demonstrations, and opportunities to share experiences. Discussions were held on topics ranging from classroom management to designing classroom activities.
