CNSM Events during UCA’s Family Day September 30, 2017

Open House 10:30 am-12:00 pm Conway Corporation Center for Sciences Lobby

Bruce Street Tailgating 3:00 – 5:00 pm  – The STEM Residential College in Arkansas Hall, will be hosting a Family Day Tailgating Event from 3:00-5:00 pm at the CNSM Tailgating spot. We will be serving Pulled Pork BBQ, Cole Slaw, Chips and Drinks. The cost for the food is $2. Each Residential College has been tasked with preparing a BBQ sauce for competition (STEM is preparing Kentucky BBQ sauces). The BBQ sauce that receives the most donations wins. Finally, there will be a Corn Hole Tournament. Entry fee is $2.  All money earned from this event will go to the UCA Bear Food Pantry. Reminder: the CNSM tailgate spot is on Bruce street near the Crafton Alumni Pavilion.

Planetarium Show: “Invaders of Mars” 8:00-9:00 pm  Dr. Edmond E. Griffin Planetarium, UCA Conway Corporation Center for the Sciences (Bruce Street)

Enjoy a tour of the universe! Admission is free. Doors open 30 minutes before the show. No admittance once show has begun.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, and fixins will be provided starting at 5:30 pm — first-come, first-served! Hosted by the Physics Club (SPS) and Math Club. Please bring a side dish, chips, non alcoholic drinks or dessert to share! See you there! Football game starts at 7:15 pm! Go STEM Bears!

JMNR Prairie in Full Bloom!

The JMNR committee wanted you all to know that the Jewel Moore Nature Reserve prairie will be on fire with blooming Blazing Star and other perennial prairie plants from June 23rd until July 3rd or so.  If you’re in Conway, please consider a walk through the reserve on UCA’s campus to see the show and you’ll notice many improvements Dr. KC Larson and her crew have made in the last year.

Science Wednesday 4/26

Earth Day @ UCA 4/21

62nd Annual State Science Fair

The University of Central Arkansas was host to the 62nd Annual Southwestern Energy Arkansas State Science and Engineering Fair.   It is held every spring at UCA, and is affiliated with the Society for Science and the Public’s International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).  The State Science and Engineering Fair is open to students in grades 9-12 who have finished in the top 4 places in their respective categories at one of Arkansas’ regional ISEF-affiliated science fairs.  CNSM’s Biology Department’s Dr. Mark Bland is the director for this annual event.
