Celebration of Women in STEM 3/3/17

The public is invited to a Day of Celebration of Women in STEM, Friday, March 3, 2017 at CNSM’s Lewis Science Center.  Professionals in STEM will be presenting in Computer Science, Biology, Physics and Chemistry, with a panel discusiion at 1, LSC 101.  Dr. Sethanne Howard of the US Naval Observatory will be presenting a lecture 4000 years of Women in Science in LSC 100 at 5:30 pm.  Please plan to come, learn, and enjoy! STEMWomen3.3.17

More than 110 undergraduate students will present 70 posters highlighting their original research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Arkansas State Capitol Rotunda in Little Rock.

The University of Central Arkansas is the primary organizer of the event, with support and participation from the Arkansas STEM Coalition and Arkansas State University. This is the fifth year for the Arkansas STEM Posters at the State Capitol.

Science Wednesday 1/25/17

It’s January… have you made any New Year’s Resolutions? Are you headed back to the gym? Come out to “The Science of Exercise” for a panel discussion on the physics of working out, the benefits of exercise, and how to make the most of your exercise time!

Event starts at 6:30, but seating is limited so plan to arrive a little bit early.

Mark your calendars for Posters at the Capitol on February 15, 2017!

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) undergraduates from across the state will present their research to elected state officials, the media, the general public, as well as other undergraduates and faculty in the Arkansas State Capitol rotunda.

Dr. Patrick Desrochers, Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemistry at UCA is the primary organizer of this event and Dr. William Slaton, Associate Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at UCA is the web page and social media organizer.
