Duties:

  • Work a 24 hour shift, 8am-8am, 4 hours of the time is unpaid for sleep time.
  • Provides crisis intervention, follow up, support, advocacy, information and referral to victims (walk‐ins) in person or on crisis line; assesses for safety; arranges for hotel/motel and transportation; safety planning.
  • Assists and provides advocacy with Orders for Protection and related civil orders; assists with Harassment Orders when related to domestic violence, stalking and/or sexual assault or general crimes.
  • Facilitates empowerment groups for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Victims.
  • Provide victims with information on rights, resources, and services provided; provides advocacy, ongoing support; follow up, and other options.
  • Explains the criminal justice process and prosecution procedures.
  • Attends interagency meetings, trainings and workshops pertinent to advocacy services as directed by supervisor.
  • Keeps accurate records of services provided,
    tracks criminal cases; submits reports timely to supervisor.
  • Participates in fundraising, grant writing, agency vigils and events as directed by supervisor.
  • Provides opportunities for volunteers, which includes recruiting and interviewing of unpaid staff
