Job Location:  Conway, AR
Job Title:  Entry Software Engineer Intern
Pay: $12.00/hour, 20 hours/week

Description: Entry Software Engineer Interns are responsible for analyzing, designing, programming, debugging, and modifying software for existing or new products/applications. The code created by the Entry Engineer may be used in commercial, end-user applications and internal tools that improve efficiencies supporting our diverse industry segments and clients. Using current programming languages and technologies, the Entry Engineer writes code, performs application testing and debugging, and creates documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. The Entry Engineer may interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. As Entry Engineers advance in their career, they are expected to become thought leaders, capable of communicating complex ideas to solve problems faced by users and clients.


  • Pursuing a college degree in technology field such as Computer Science or related area
  • Graduating May 2018 – May 2019
  • 0+ GPA
  • Open to US Citizens and Non US Citizens
  • Must be able to work onsite in Conway, AR through the school year
  • Demonstrating an understanding and experience of working with complex and large datasets would be a plus
  • Java, Javascript, Node.js, Scala, any analytics/modeling work (e.g. SAS, WPS, R etc.)

What will set you apart:

  • Html/css/xml.
  • Hands on work with one or more of following: Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB or Hadoop and related technologies
  • Any work on Business Intelligence tools like, Business Objects, Tableau, Birst or others

What you will do:

  • Own low complexity assignments
  • Augment team on moderate to high complexity assignments
  • Receive necessary training (more time than advanced levels)
  • Manage time, responsibilities, and priorities effectively with emphasis on contribution
  • Possess a foundational understanding of software languages
  • Share opinions and ideas openly with team mates
  • Begin to understand fundamentals of work estimation
  • Start to learn about Acxiom’s core business and procedures through Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Work in a teaming environment
  • Create code that is well formed and adheres to Acxiom guidelines (readability)
  • Follow code plan provided by more senior staff
  • Adhere to professional standards of conduct
  • Begin to establish relationships with Acxiom stakeholders and grow those relationships as your career grows
