Brandon Mathis

Brandon Mathis, (2007 BA Fine Arts and 2010 BFA Sculpture emphasis) was awarded one of twelve three-month-long summer fellowships at Ox-Bow on Lake Michigan in Saugatuck, MI.   Brandon is currently working on his MFA at Hunter College of the City University of New York.

Monica Steinberg

Monica Steinberg, (BA in Art: Art History Emphasis,2004) was one of two doctoral students to be awarded a Smithsonian Pre-Doctoral Fellowship.  She will be living in Washington, D.C. next year as she completes her dissertation for City University New York.  Following that, in summer 2014 she will be scholar-in-residence at the O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Hunter Oden

Hunter Oden, (BFA Graphic Design Emphasis 2012), received a Bronze Addy award at the district level.  District 10 of the American Advertising Federation is composed of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Robyn Blaylock

Robyn Blaylock, (BA Art Education Emphasis 2012), presented “What a student teacher learns . . . priceless” at the 2013 National Art Education Association Convention in Ft. Worth in April.  Robyn currently teaches art at Perryville High School.

Matt Borengasser

Matt Borengasser worked for a couple of years with a Little Rock design company and then moved to China to teach English and paint. Matt taught ESL in both China and South Korea from 2001 to 2009 and then in 2010 began teaching Art at the Yew Chung International School in Chongqing, China. Starting in summer 2013, Matt will begin a year of painting in China’s Yunnan, Sichuan and Heilongjiang Provinces. His previous work can be seen at www.mattborengasser.com.

Donna Uptigrove

Donna Uptigrove (BFA 2006) accepted a position as Curator of Exhibits at the Historic Arkansas Museum in Little Rock.

Beth Norwood

Beth Norwood (BA 2009)  received her Masters of Art degree in Art History from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her Master’s thesis is entitled Body Doubles: An Exploration of Representation in Lagunillas Style E Figurines from West Mexico.

Katie Hall

Katie Hall (BA 2011) completed her Masters of Art degree in Art History at  Richmond, the American International University in London. Her thesis is entitled To Each Their Own: An Examination of Authorized and Alternative Representations of Avebury. She is currently the Assistant Registrar at the Old State House Museum in Little Rock.
