The Black Box Student Gallery is a student operated gallery that hosts a number of art exhibitions throughout the year. The mission of the Black Box Student Gallery is to promote artistic enthusiasm and discourse beyond the classroom setting. The space provides an outlet for experimentation and peer-based education. Student initiative and energy should always be the force behind the student gallery and its activities.
The Black Box is located in Schichtl Hall, 1A. To contact the directors, call the main Art Office at 450-3113, email them at firstname.lastname@example.org or see the faculty advisor for the Black Box Gallery, Sandra Luckett. Student directors for the Black Box are Mallory Morris, Kolby Black and Hannah Mosby.
We are in need of volunteers to help hang shows on the Wednesdays before show openings from 5:30 pm to around 9:30 pm. Volunteers will assist with touching up walls and pedestals, arranging the show and hanging work. Working with the Black Box is fun and provides anyone interested in art with valuable experience. Please stop by and help for as long or as little as you can!
