M94-09 – GLENN GANT SKETCH BOOKS COLLECTION

This collection contains two sketch looks of Eureka Springs artist Glenn Gant.

Born in 1911 in Kansas City, Missouri.  Glenn Gant began his artistic career at the Kansas City Art Institute in 1930.  World War II interrupted his studies when he served as an infantryman.  He returned to the institute and remained until 1960.

During the early 1950’s Gant studied at the University of the Americas in Mexico City.  His work was influenced by Mexican artists Sugueiron and Diego Revera during this time period.

Since 1960, Gant has been sketching aspects of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
