This collection consists of materials pertaining to the life of Ada Jane Harvey, who was a well known foreign languages professor at Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA).  The papers consist of her will and correspondence, a cassette tape of her funeral, and poem written by the Ava Harvey.

Miss Harvey received her AB degree at Occidental College, followed by a MA from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. from New York University.  She was a professor at ASTC from 1921 until her retirement in 1955 and established the school’s first Foreign Language Department.  She was an active member of the Conway Presbyterian Church as well as many other community organizations.  Miss Harvey died on March 13, 1980.
