Why I Do What I Do:

My passion is to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need today so that they are mobilized to be effective leaders of tomorrow.

Success, in my opinion, is not about graduating magna cum laude, earning six figures, or even about doing what makes you happy. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with those measures of success, they are not what’s really going to matter in fifty years. To me, success is measured in the difference I make today in the lives of those around me and in the legacy I leave behind. Every day is truly a gift. It’s our responsibility to invest into others and make the most of each day we’ve been given.

About Garth:

Garth has been an Education Counselor in UCA’s Academic Advising Center since 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in graphic design from UCA and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Union University. Prior to coming to UCA, he served as the Program Coordinator of an Intensive Academic English Program at the University of California, Berkeley in Berkeley, California.

When he is not advising students, Garth enjoys traveling, photography, roasting coffee, Thai food, and going on exciting adventures with his wife, Pam, and their two miniature dachshunds, Rufus and Oliver.
