I was recruited to join the UCA Track and Field team from my native country of the Bahama Islands. I really look forward to practice and being with my teammates because the coaches have really created a family environment among the track team. They encourage us and have fun with us.
My major is pre-med biology with a minor in nutrition, so my classes are as challenging as the athletics. Each of my professors has an open door policy and inspires me to work hard to reach my goal of being a pediatrician one day.
My experience as an incoming freshman was so much more than I expected – the campus atmosphere was so inviting that I met tons of new people who were always willing to help me out. I want to pass that on to other new students by working as a housing host. It’s important to me that other students feel the same as I do, that UCA is a home away from home.
