Female student in libraryAthletics and academics go hand in hand at UCA. I came to UCA on a volleyball scholarship, and I also play soccer and softball. With the help of my professors and advisers, I’ve been able to excel as much in the classroom as I have on the field. In fact, I graduated early with a business degree and now I’m working on an education degree.

UCA has not only shaped me academically and athletically, it’s shaped me all around. I’ve received The Steve McCarty Citizenship Award from The Southland Conference – an award given to only one female athlete in the conference, recognizing citizenship, sportsmanship, leadership, and community service.

Living on campus in my first year really helped me get involved, too. I’m part of a school that’s big enough to have a proud athletic tradition, but small enough that the president of the university knows my name. It’s an atmosphere that puts me and my education front and center.
