Tax Freedom Day — ACRE Economist to Speak about Tax Reform

ACRE Scholar and UCA Assistant Professor of Economics Jeremy Horpedahl will speak about ACRE’s tax research at Arkansas Tax Freedom Day at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 13th at the rotunda of the Arkansas State Capitol.

According to the Tax Foundation, Tax Freedom Day in Arkansas is the date Arkansans have to work until to pay their federal, state and local taxes for the calendar year.

Horpedahl is the co-author with Tax Foundation experts of “Arkansas: The Road Map To Tax Reform.” His research on Arkansas’s tax policy was cited by the Arkansas Legislative Tax Reform and Relief Task Force in their interim report released on December 18th. The task force is currently analyzing ways to improve the fairness and competitiveness of Arkansas taxes.

Horpedahl was also interviewed by KARK’s Jessi Turnure on Capitol View about his research on tax policy on February 18th.
